Church in the Peak Chesterfield is run by a leadership team headed up by Dave Newman. Within this team, Dave Newman and Adrian Knight take the roles of church elders and are well supported by a group of church members who take on other leadership responsibilities.

“Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, serving as overseers – not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.” 1 Peter 5: 2-3 (NIV)

Dave Newman

Dave joined Church in the Peak as the lead elder in 2011, having moved to Bakewell from South Yorkshire with his wife Gaynor in order to be nearer to Dave’s work. Dave has been involved in various aspects of ministry in the past and Gaynor has been involved in two overseas missions with Mission Direct. Dave is a very keen golfer and also follows non-league football.

Adrian Knight

Adrian & Ginny and his family moved to Chesterfield in 2006 to help plant the church. He serves on the leadership team, leads worship and is developing a worship team. He enjoys parties (especially fancy dress), eating with friends and walks in the countryside.

The church works alongside Matt Partridge in Oxford and gets further oversight from Simon Holley (Catalyst).
